Ice Radio is the latest iteration of a radio station that began more than 50 years ago at McMurdo Station in Antarcita. Our guest Elizabeth Delaquess is a Broadcast Engineer at McMurdo Station in Antarctica, working at both the radio and television stations there. She also shares some tales about her magical encounters with shortwave radio stations while “on the ice.”
